6th Technical Workshop of the APRIORI Network

The 6th Technical Workshop of the APRIORI Network was held from September 16 to 18, 2026, at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in Delft, the Netherlands. Bringing together all 10 doctoral candidates (DCs), principal investigators (PIs), and collaborating partners from academia and industry, the workshop provided an opportunity to review research developments over the previous six months and to take part in technical and industrial training activities.

The workshop was held in conjunction with the 2nd Public Training Course on Uncertainty Quantification and Optimization in Manufacturing. Associate Professor Dr.ir. Oswaldo Morales Napoles and Assistant Professor Dr.ir. Iuri Rocha from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences at TU Delft delivered lectures covering topics such as probabilistic models, expert judgement, Gaussian processes, and Bayesian optimization. Afterwards, each DC presented their recent research progress and future plans, allowing them to exchange ideas and receive feedback from other consortium members.

During the following days, a General Assembly meeting chaired by Hendrik Devriendt and Elke Deckers from KU Leuven was held to review the overall progress of the project and coordinate upcoming activities. This was followed by training sessions on soft and industrial skills. Niels Tekke and Thomas Kamp from Meerkat B.V. led a session on Managing and Leading a Diverse Team, including practical team-collaboration scenarios with professional actors, while Bart Schrijvers from TWD delivered a training session on Engineering Ecological Solutions together with a group challenge based on a real-world industrial case study.
